The Co-operative Structure
The main purpose of a co-operative is to provide goods and/or services to its members, memberships of course should be restricted to Malaysian Indians only. Of course the product or service is open to the public, but the inherent benefits of being a member e.g discounted prices for good and/or services will not be available to non-members. However, there are many other benefits to forming a co-operative.
These benefits include the following:
* Through their democratic structure, co-operatives enable their members to have direct input into the policies and direction of their organization.
* Profits generated by co-operatives usually stay in their community.
Some quotes from Malcolm X a leader of the African American Civil Rights movement. These quotes are over 30 years old, but please ask yourselves do they not reflect our struggle for equality.
The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.
Malcolm X
You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.
Malcolm X
Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.
Malcolm X, Malcolm X Speaks, 1965
Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it.

Power never takes a back step - only in the face of more power.
This may sound ridiculous for some but personally each time I receive a wedding invitation and the venue being
SJKC ......, when can we have an Indian wedding in Tamil School Hall, first of all how many Tamil school have hall ?? This is one of the demand in HINDRAF's 18 point memo as we are all aware but I just hope not to see any wedding in Chinese school I am not racist but i feel if they can build hall in their school then we should be ab to do it.

All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression.

Our own Mahatma Udayakumar was taken to Taiping hospital yesterday . He was brought there for some medical checkup due to his failing eyesight, It was also reported that he had a minor heart attack and that his sugar level is at 15.5 .Some of Hindraf members heard about this news and rush to the hospital. When they reach the Hospital, Udaya was being escorted out of the hospital by our “world class” police. Mr Udaya looks energetic and was in very high spirit despite his medical condition. He must have transmitted his no fear disease to all Hindraf supporter there who clearly do not show any fear to so many policemen present there.
This is an excerpt from Paulo Freire's seminal book "Pedagogy of the Oppressed"
"..in order to have the continued opportunity to express their "generosity", the oppressors must perpetuate injustice. An unjust social order is the permanent fount of this "generosity", which is nourished by death, despair and poverty.
True generosity consists precisely in fighting to destroy the causes which nourish such false charity. True generosity lies in striving so that the outstretched hands stretch out no more but rather work, and in working transform this world so that there may be no more opportunity for false generosity..."
This is what Hindraf should strive for..the elimination of false generosity. An inspiring writer and educator this Brazilian, Paulo Freire ....Naragan
When its UMNO it is perhimpunan aman but when it is Hindraf it becomes perhimpunan haram (3,000 bantah hapus DEB di Pulau Pinang) UMNO-stop the racism and religious extremism. Treat all Malaysians equal as is provided for under Article 8 of the Federal Constitution. (Equality before the Law) Lets move on Prime Minister Badawi! UMNO must stop this racial disharmony and rational disunity. The main objective of the New Economic Policy (NEP) was to eradicated poverty irrespective of race. In practice it turned out to be everybody else in Malaysia except the Indians. Most of them are mired in poverty and 40,000 Indian children do not have birth certificate to start of with (in Selangor alone) The N.E.P. has been a non-starter for especially the poor Indians.
